Yesterday was my first day to run on the actual "Marathon Training" schedule. Up until now, I have been on the "Buildup" schedule. Now, it gets tough. And I don't just say that out of fear... but out of experience. Now is when I start to run the longer runs during the middle of the week. Plus, I have the good ol' Texas Heat to deal with...
Knowing I had 10 miles to run, I figured I'd get up early and run White Rock Creek Trail. For those in Dallas, my plan was to park at Hillcrest/LBJ and run almost down to Royal, then turn back. However, my plans were THWARTED by the humidity. The windows on my house had condensation on them when I got up at 6 AM. I then found out the humidity was 88%. Unbelievable... you just can't breathe! So I ran 10 in the gym. It wasn't very fun. The treadmill is fine for short runs, but for longer ones it gets pretty boring.
For those that want to see what I'm up against, I'll show you the schedule I'm using. I'm starting Week 1: Link
